Eastshore called me at noon and told me that there are a few very small dots in the chest xray, which meant chest infection. Last nite the doctor did not notice the dot though. My heart just sank. I decided to take half day leave, packed a sandwich from Spinelli's and took a cab back home - brought my boulder back home. Took a 15minute break watching "Jamie at home" and stomached the sandwich. Then I packed Shawn's stuff and left home. I picked him up from daycare centre. Took a cab to Eastshore to collect the X-ray and went to Paragon.
Dr Khor said in fact Shawn's condition is better than what she remembered from Saturday and she confirmed there is no more wheezing. She said there is no need for nebulizer because he's gaining weight (today at 10.74kg) and everything is normal except he's still coughing, classified as bronchilitis. The medicine that she prescribed based on what Eastshore is carrying is Dhasedyl. I googled on it this morning and read that it is a strong medicine for infant. She said that Eastshore is her client and she has to work around the system and provide based on what they have. Anyway she said yes, it is strong and it is a cough suppresant. We needed that because Shawn goes to the daycare centre. She advised to cut down the dosage to twice a day because she does not want Shawn to be dependent on the medicine. Ventolin which Shawn hates, is the right way to go to relax his tiny muscles of the airway, so that they don't need to work too hard. The AntiB Klacid is supposed to work for him. Since he can't spit out the phelgm, they seem to be coming out from his nose. Dr Khor said that it is normal and she expected this to happen. So let it run.
I trust what she's saying and certainly he recover soon. So I am going to keep him away from the centre for the next 2 days, stay home and monitor.
