Thankfully Shawn was sweet for 3/4 of the evening. When I picked him up from school, he was beaming and smiling ALL THE WAY, to Jovin and Elaine. He was super duper cheerful. Back at home, he sat on the high chair while I quickly steam cod fish, washed the bottles and dished out the porridge from the thermal jar. And took a few minutes to clean up Aiko's mess. Then attended to him with the porridge 1st. After filling him 1/4 of the porridge, dished out the fish and brought it out. Speaking of efficiency - I though the sequence was well implemented.
Dinner time :
Me : Shawn, you want more porridge? ... (sign More then try to shove the spoon into his mouth)
Shawn : ... (shook his head - means nononono)....
Me : Shawn, you want more porridge? ... (signs More, then try to shove again)
Shawn : ... (shook his head - means nononono. Then he opens his mouth, there was food inside, not swallowed yet)
After dinner and bath, YT entertained him for awhile. We put him in the playyard but even in there, he was not happy. He was screaming away. So we decided to pick him up and placed him on the high chair with us. I warmed up a bottle of milk and put in a cup for him to drink with a straw; while we digged in our dinner. I think he drank less than 80ml with a few pauses along the way (the rest went down the drain). Then he was back screaming away. I think he wanted to be on the floor to chase Aiko around but we were having dinner (no resource to just stand there and watch over him!). So much of having surround sound at home! After tolerating the screams for 5-10min, we're done with our dinner and we spent time playing and reading to him his fav bedtime baby Dinasour book. I put him to bed with him sleeping soundly in my arms while latching on. Thank my lucky stars he slept till about 7am today!
Photo taken today during my lunch break (yea... he was screaming away when I handed him over to the caregiver)
