Shawn talks

2nights ago, I steamed an orange with added salt, trying out home remedy to nurse my bad cough. Shawn saw it and was begging to try 'just a little bit'. I smirked and said, "Well, it's pretty yucky because mommie added salt to it". He waved his hand and said, "I don't want already" and walked away. As I was eating up the orange, he came, tilted his head and looked at me, "Do you like it?". Again, I said, "It tastes horrible". He said, "I don't want."

During our recent trip to Brisbane, Shawn shown some improvement on clinging on others, rather than YT or me hehehee... He's found some family members to be amiable to his standards ahahaa... so on good days, YT and I are off the hook while Shawn keeps himself busy with the rest of the folks. He had overcome one area which is when we asked him to ask waiter or waitress at cafe for something, he would go up to them and ask for it eg like for a teaspoon or the bill.

While putting coins into froggy bank with Shawn, I asked him what does he want to buy for us with the money saved. He said, "Buy cuckoo clock for Papa, and buy apples for Mommie, buy toys for Didi". As for himself, to buy Ben10 toys...

We 'smuggled' in a venus fly trap from Brisbane. 1st night we caught a cockroach and fed it to the plant. Yup it's a LIVING plant. 2nd night, I found a dead beetle somewhere on the floor, and urged Shawn to drop everything and quickly follow me to the yard. I dropped it in and CLAMP. Shawn was excited and smiling. 3rd night, I found a baby cockroach loitering in the kitchen, smacked a bit and while the fellow was still wriggling, I urged Shawn to come along again. Dropped the bug and CLAMP! The nights after that we didn't find any other insects to feed the plant, Shawn never fail to come by and ask, 'Any more bugs?". He is still into carnivorous plants etc. We did see a stall at Eumundi market selling all kinds of insect eating plants, pitcher plants, venus fly trap, sundew etc. And yes, he is still watching slug and beetles being eaten up by plants, in youtube. One of his favorite is a clip from David Attenborough (which BORES me to the core!)
