Cruising, baby!

Shawn has learned to lower himself from standing position. He slumps against the cot rails and squats down. That's how he does it. :). He was cruising a few steps in his cot since 2 nights ago, at the corner of the cot, trying out his steps and then sits down. Let Shawn takes his own course, no one is hurrying him - am thankful that I had made up my mind not to invest/rent an exersaucer or walker! Credits to be given to his daycare centre caregivers!

An excerpt from
http://life.familyeducation.com/walking/baby/50741.html?page=4
"About a month after your baby first pulls himself up to a standing position, he will start cruising. (No, that doesn't mean he will start frequenting bars and looking for dates.) Your baby will start by pulling himself up to standing using a couch, chair, or low table for support. Then, using sideways shuffling steps, he'll slowly, carefully move along the edge of that piece of furniture. Without letting go, your baby will slide both hands in the direction he wants to go. Then he'll move his lead leg over without lifting it off the ground. Finally, he'll catch up with the trail leg, sliding it over next to the lead leg."

Recently there is this flu bug going on. I just learned today that the daycare centre had 13cases of stomach flu. Yesterday there were 5 new cases. It's scary isn't?! I hope the rotavirus med that Shawn had would keep him strong and help protect him from all funny funny bugs. Touchwood touchwood...
