Haircut!

Shawn sat up and cry at 4.40am this morning. After nursing, he went back to sleep and woke up chatty at 7am. He was chatting with his toys and rolling about his bed, just being soooo chatty. What we heard seemed like sentences in some gibberish language.

On Saturday After our dimsum breakfast near our home, we brought Shawn for a haircut. The last haircut he had was when at 4months old. We faced a wriggly, wailing and teary toddler in the hair salon. It wasn't some botak hair cut (it would have been more traumatising for Shawn!) but just a quick 10min trim. Anyway, I thought the lady did quite a fair job for $7. After we got out of the shop and buckled him on the stroller, he's back to his normal self again. Back at home, he turned cranky because he missed his morning nap. To all our relief, he slept for about 1.5hr in the afternoon after his lunch.

Yesterday he was holding his diaper during change. He mumbled "diaper" - never get to repeat this. This morning, I thought I heard Shawn said "bathroom" twice. And later this evening, we thought we heard him said it once. I never really taught him the word bathroom. When asked to repeat, he just look at us blankly.

His communicating well with us. Some of his words and antics :
1. Signs milk + verbal "mak mak" for Milk or food.
2. Calls my mum Ma(!) - yea, with the exclamation because he always shout!
3. Calls me Mama (on a gentler tone) & YT Pa
4. Calls Aiko "Ei"
5. Says "Duck" when he sees his bath duck or hear the squeaks when I press out the water
6. Says "Tar" for Gerber star
7. Occasionally say "Ter" for water
8. "Oo Oo" when he drops or throws something on the floor - but sounded more slurred
9. Says Touch when he wants to reach out and touch something - his favorite word now!!!
10. "A Cak" when playing peekaboo
11. Clasps his hands over the side of his face/ears when we say "Oh no"
12. Asks Aiko to sit (Hmmppfff or on silent mode as he doesn't know how to pronounce sit) with the fist sign
13. Manages the sippy cup quite smoothly (but sometimes still choke when the flow is too fast)
14. Drinks from straw
