First day of 2009

We had breakfast with Steph/Sing/Justin at Tanglin Mall. Shawn was whiny by the time I finished my breakfast coz he needed his morning nap. While we were in the car on the way to Botanical Garden, he was almost at the verge of screaming out loud (thankfully not!) while trying to settle down, He finally sang himself to sleep. Of course, he arrived at Botanical garden sleeping away. He finally woke up after an hour of nap (and we were half way thru the gardens already). It was hot hot hot!!! Met Sing's parents there and then we continued the walk towards Halia restaurant for lunch. But Shawn was noisy halfway through the lunch. Tried all means but he couldn't stay still and quiet. He even threw away the Gerber stars onto the floor - THAT was the 1st time happening to us!!! He must be OVERLY Bored!!! YT, Auntie Sandra and me had to take turns to bring him around for walk. When we walked towards the waterfall just outside the restaurant, he was trying to get down. I suppose he thought it's a swimming pool where he can just go in, it probably reminded him of the kids pool at Rasa Sentosa!

Shawn had his 1st experience stepping onto grass for the 1st time, barefooted. He seemed stunned. After that he took a few steps and walked with me supporting him. Then he sat down and touched the grass for a few minutes and watched other kids playing in the field. Then there was one group of Korean tourists. A boy probably 4-5years old came to Shawn and said hello. Then Shawn waved back with both hands and smiled. The boy hugged him. So sweet! :)

On the way back, we were caught in the rain but it kind of subsided after 10minutes. So YT and I decided to rush from the Swan Lake gazebo to the drop off point. By the way, it seemed like there are no more swans at the swan lake (off duty on New Year's day?!).

Shawn was exceptionally cranky yesterday evening. He must have very very tired due to outing and it was difficult for him to settle down (plus he skipped his PM nap!) Poor baby.. I managed to put him to Lala-land at 8pm and he was knocked out until 6am.

One thing to mention, he called Mommie twice yesterday. It seems that he had found "mi" vocally and managed to join Mom and Mi together. Wow.. what a way to start 2009! Nice!
