We ran out of apples yesterday. Well, Shawn and I kind of have the apple routine. After dinner, the two of us would sit on the sofa, and I'll bite the apple off for him to munch; else he sits on the highchair while I feed him apple. So.. anyway, yesterday I told him after dinner,"Mommie ran out of apples. We can only buy them during weekend. So Mommie give you cheese ok?". Then Shawn replied, "Cheese". So I went to get some cheese, cut them into cubes for him to eat off the fork. I asked if he likes cheese, he clapped him hands and said more. So all is well, and happy. Then I went to wash the bowls and cutleries. When I got back, I said "OK, Shawn, walk time". Shawn replied, "Nooooooooooooooooooo! Apple!!!". Ooppssss.... I said, "But no more apples at home, we'll buy during weekend." And he wailed "No no no nooooooooooooo! Apple!!!". Poor kid. I ended up carrying a wriggling whiny toddler in my arms and finally distracted him with "phantom" (as they do not exist then but I told him see, they are going home) birds outside the house.
I put him to bed at 8pm. Gave him about 150ml of milk. He drank and then I turned off the lights. I told him time to sleep but he's whiny. First he said walk walk. I said no, sleep time. Then he lie down. I asked, "Shawn, do you want mommie to pat?". He replied "Pat". So I pat him a bit. Less then 5min he's passed out. I still remembered looking at the clock, it was 8.20pm when I stepped out of the room. This morning I had to wake him up at about 7.45am. He woke up happy. It was indeed the longest sleep ever! Almost 11 1/2 hrs!
