Things that we did over the weekend per planned:
- Watched Up! (succesfully stayed in the cinema for 1hr and I had to miss the last 20min ending because Shawn got cranky and cried). He loved the show at the beginning telling me when the old man would exclaim "Huh!" and when the dog would appear
- We had good meals, at least he was not so picky except the Saturday meals
- Went to Marina Barrage and enjoyed our evening out there
- Finally, I managed to get a haircut and chopped it short!
In all, Shawn was a good boy. At night, he could just knock out in the hotel cot (of course after telling us he is Shawn repeatedly, and repeatedly telling us where is his/our nose, eyes, ears and mouth and finally having YT to pat him to zzz). He would doze off uncomfortably in the stroller that was provided by the hotel but we would wheel him back to the hotel to sleep in the cot. In the room, he drew on the note pad and hotel floor mat, telling us it's either mop or apple, ran around the room with kiwi, orange and apples. And yes, he drew on the apples as well. He enjoyed the view from the window/cot looking out to Singapore flyer, some ocean view ships, he gets to see the highway with lots of cars and not to mention Shenton Way from far away, and good view of Pan Pac outdoor elevators for him to practise words of Up and Down. The cot is a little small for him but nevertheless, he slept till about 10pm to 6am+ before stirring and really waking up at 7am. He ate on his own 3/4 of the time (except the Saturday meals) when he loved the food that's served to him.
Some new things to share on his development :
- Said "A Tan" with signing (it means All Done!)
- Acknowledges a goldie as a dog (we saw one at Marina Barrage) and wasn't afraid of it even though the goldie is almost as tall as him
- Acknowledges and calls stairs as step
- Knows what is stir (when he sees me stirring a spoon in a cup) and turn (turning the cap of a tube or bottle of powder)
- Says throw or drop at the right moment
- Pointed at Singapore flyer and said "Uh, uh....Big". Patted on his own chest and said, "Shawn, small"
- Pointed to a blue spoon and said "Blue" - finally not everything is red!
- When he says "Oh No", he clasped his hands on his cheeks and press (I hadn't done this with him for a long long time)
- Back at home, while YT was out yesterday evening, Shawn came to me and said "Shawn (pat pat on his chest), Shleep (put his right hand on the ear)" . I didn't quite catch this at first because I didn't look at him. Then I realised he asked to put him to bed for nap. So I put him back in the cot, gave him The Wheel on the Bus book and left him in the room alone (while I worked a bit in the study room). 10minutes later, porkchop was sleeping.
- Said Aiyo! (while watching Armageddon last night)
