3wks worth of update

Wow, it's been 3wks since I last posted. Anyway, many things had happened, including us signing up for one month of tingkat (less rush for me daily), my new job responsibilities which takes up 2.5days of the week and makes my eyes go round and round @_@; and we were going to Pasta de Waraku at Changi Airport terminal 2 for 3 weekends. Shawn has been catching up on lots of speech. He surprises us every other day.

Use of new words :
About - Shawn says "Teacher Sima read story about dinosaur"
Next time - When ask which shirt he wants to wear. "Wear dinosaur shirt. Next time, wear baby Tom & Jerry shirt."
Behind - When in the cab, Shawn says "I want buckle, buckle behind papa's bottom" because YT is sitting on the buckle.
How come - We were at Best Denki today. One of the keyboard was switch to minimal sound. Shawn was pressing on the keyboard, he turned around and asked YT, "How come no sound?"
Already & also - Shawn bath ready (read already). Papa bath also
Away - He now sits quietly to let me cut his nail. When I whopped out the nail cutter, he would say this "I want to use scissors to cut thumbnail. Mommie cut away thumbnail". To Shawn, thumbnail = all the nails.

Pretty
I wore a skirt last Monday. Shawn looked at it and said, "Pretty". Mommie : Shawn who is pretty? Shawn : Mommie pretty.. wahahaaa on a Monday morning - NICE! And one of the days I wore a black dress. He smiled and also said "Pretty".... Awwww... so sweet!

One of the nights before bedtime, Shawn told YT, "Mommie pretty". Then YT asked him, "Who else is pretty?". The answer was "Dinosaur".... !@#^&* We always disturbed him by asking is Ashley pretty? or is Zoe pretty? He would shyly keep quiet with a little smile or just say no softly. Sometimes he would says it firmly, "NO!"

All about birthday
Recently there are a lot of birthday parties in school. He received goodie bags and comes back and sing birthday song every now and then. I would always ask him, whose birthday party was it for today... On every occasion, without fail, the answer is "Shawn Shawn's ". Ok, I got the message loud and clear

One of the mornings, as he just opened his eyes "Dinosaur eat meat. I want spiderman happy birthday cake" - 2 totally disconnected topics at one go.

Shawn : Happy birthday to you,
Mommie : You are born in the zoo (he laughed)
Mommie : With the monkey and...
Shawn : Mammoth! (sometimes it's dinosaur)
Mommie : Happy birthday to you.

He told me that he wants a "big big birthday present" and a "happy birthday cake". I asked him what birthday cake would he like. It went from Superman, Ironman, Spiderman, Green goblin, Elmo etc and finally he made up his mind and it has been repeated to me hundreds of time that he wants a Spiderman cake.

On Food
Do you want banana muffin? No.
Do you want banana? No.
Do you want muffin? Yes.

When given an apple, Shawn tells himself this, "Cannot eat stem, cannot eat seed, eat here (pointing at the fruit)"
He's obsessed with apple... he MUST get an apple, especially when he goes past NTUC or Cold storage or some fruit stall. Not such into raisins anymore. That seems to take a seat back.
For Shawn's meal at foodcourt or hawker centre, he easily is settled by ordering wanton noodle or bee tai mak. He loves charsiew (which he calls sweet meat). That would settle everything... simple.
Shawn's high class meal at Olio Dome would mean ordering Risotto (with chicken and pumpkin) and he can eat 1/2 a plate of it and he would snack on fries from Papa's Lot burger meal
I am so glad he loves raw tomatoes and Japanese cucumber. He also loves cooked cucumber and pineapple, well, in tomato sauce.
Due to the recent haze and super duper hot weather, I resort to spiking his drink with Ribena to make him drink 500-600ml of water. (sometimes he holds up his bottle to see and ensure there's some pink color in the water when he requests to drink Ribena). Just today, we introduced him to sugarcane drink and he likes it a lot!

Recent TV shows
While watching The Iron Giant, there are some parts which Shawn doesn't quite like (probably scared), he said this, "Mommie sit here"
Every weekday, he comes home demanding for Animal Planet. "I want watch Ani (read Animal) Planet." He loves to watch "The Big Cat Diary" because there are lots of cheetahs and lions featured. Next would be "I want watch Monkey show" - documentary on baboons, chimps and other types of monkeys.
