Shawn @ The Zoo on 11Sept

The night before, I told Shawn that we are going to the zoo. So he asked if Ah Kor and Uncle Stefan were going. I said no because they are far away. Then he said to himself, Ah kor and Uncle Stefan go later ok? He went rattling about wanting to see lion, tiger etc... Next morning he was super cooperative about getting dressed up, brushing his teeth and getting out of the house... coz he knows that he's off to the ZOO!!!

I got up early that day for company event. Blanched some carrots, green peas, brocolli and packed cherry tomatoes in his 'lunch box'. Put in some carrots and brocolli with his swiss roll. I brought Fuji apples for him to snack too. At the zoo, he downed the veges in seconds but I had to beg him to eat the piece of swiss roll before we hit the tracks in the zoo. He was super duper excited even before getting into the zoo. He pranced around doing his Wolverine and wushu and what nots while we were eating breakfast. Dylan was just purely blur throughout thinking what was his elder brother doing.

It was a very pleasant and happy experience for Shawn. He was happy seeing all sorts of animals. At the white tiger enclosure, he got a little nervous and asked YT to carry him. At first he said he was scared but later he kind of warmed up. He loved the giant tortoises and was stucked there for awhile. He told me that the giant tortoise was eating potato and watermelon. Well, I didn't see that for myself. I take it as a yes. At the lion's den, Nala (lioness) and Simba (lion) were sleeping. Shawn shouted for them to wake up. He asked the chicken to 'help' too and even roared at them... yea, with Yt's guidance to 'wake' the lions up. I've got a video of that.. except it's in the camera and I need to upload it. Speaking of a lazy mommie.. hahaha. Oh right.. another phrase that he often used while we were at the zoo, "Let's check it out" when we tell him we are going to another enclosure. Nice to hear that... as if it's so cool to hear it from him :)

Anyway, he loved all kinds of big cats. He was also excited seeing lemur (King Julien), zebra (Marty), giraffe (Melman), warthog (Poomba), merkat (Timon), orang utan and flamingo, tonnes of monkeys and amphibians etc. He was a little scared of tarantula and scorpions. However, he did self-assuring sessions by saying that he's a brave knight and isn't afraid of these creepy crawlies like centipede. I am glad that he does know the animals even though what he had learnt are from the books and loads of movies. I have never seen him walk so much hahaaa. As we were going back, in the car, he kept saying, "I am not tired". And probably one minute later, he was dozing off next to me. Everyday he tells me this, "Mommie I like the zoo."
