Nature science - Insects

2weeks ago it was sea creatures. He came home telling me about jellyfish, about uncle wearing gloves to pick up the jellyfish and how jellyfish stings fish with their tentacles. Sea turtles use flippers to swim, eat seaweed and drink sea water. Then came insects...

18/2 - Mainly on praying mantis
Shawn : Praying mantis eat other insects
Mommie : O really.. by the way why are they called praying mantis
Shawn : Because they put their hands like that (hands clasp together onto his forehead) and pray
Mommie : Right... so they do eat other insects? I thought they eat plants?
Shawn : No! (Retorted violently and sounded upset). They eat beetles, butterfly and praying mantis
YT : I believe what you say, Shawn.
Mommie : (Bleah) Ok, Mommie would confirm that. Let you know tomorrow.
Shawn : Mommie, beetle eat what?
Mommie : I don't know I'll find out okay?

I need to wiki more and read up. He is right about Praying mantis diet.

19/2 Shawn taught me about beetle eating plants and leaves. I did my homework first anyway, to make sure I don't say the wrong thing. So I said, some beetles eat poo, snails and worms ((I got this weird look from Shawn)
And butterfly drinks juice (nectar) from flowers using their straw - ehmmm.. proboscis - just googled, I'll tell him again

20/2 According to Shawn ladybirds eat flowers and leaves - Correcto mundo!

I wonder what questions come next... These days he comes back and telling me things that I go "HUH"... I'm glad school is teaching him nature science really really well!
