Our weekend at Pan Pacific

We had prata for breakfast on Saturday morning. Shawn had about 3/4 of it. Then we went PanPac at about noon. During check-in while waiting, Shawn was impressed by the lifts going up and down and the boring water fountain at the lobby. He learnt a new word "lift" and used the word "down" mostly at the right moment. :) The room isn't that impressive. It is not as big as Conrad and the view of the room is pretty dull looking at Suntect convection centre, and City Hall. We waited for about 45minutes for a Maclaren stroller to be delivered to the room and when we got it, we realised that one of the straps were missing. So anyway, we managed to make do and got him to sit on it. Then we headed to Tony Roma's for lunch. While waiting to be served he occupied himself with some crayon coloring for awhile. Shawn had butter rice with roasted chicken, while pinching baked beans from YT. He didn't seem quite interested in the meal. Anyway, we managed to shove the food in. Then we went to window shop around in Suntec. He got one balloon from the car exhibition at the Carrefour atrium and that kept him occupied. Half an hour later, he fell asleep. At the beginning before he fell into deep sleep, he refused to let me take away the balloon. But I managed to removed it from his hands after awhile. He slept less than an hour and woke up hungry while we were taking a break at Starbucks, threw tantrum and cried until the moment he got his milk. YT thought that when he woke up seeing us drinking iced latte, he thought that we were drinking milk instead. Later we went back to the hotel to laze awhile and tried to make him nap awhile. We ended up with him playing in the room running around and screaming. Then we went to Marina Square for dinner. We had Yoshinoya. He ate but didn't seem to enjoy it as much. Then we bought him char siew pau. He had one, then took a bath. We heard the NDP fireworks from far away too bad we didn't get to watch it because our room is not facing the harbour side. Shawn was a little scared I think upon hearing the loud noise which reminded him of thunder. He followed wherever we went and was pretty sticky when the fireworks was on. He slept at 9plus while I also fell asleep at the same time but I woke up later for McNuggets for supper.

Shawn couldn't sleep in the cot because it was much higher than we expected and it wasn't safe. While putting him on the single bed that they had added, it didn't seem that safe either since he could flip over either side when he is sleeping. So, we ended up with him co-sleeping with us. Throughout the night Shawn slept more towards YT's side. It became that I had more than a double bed ++ and YT only had a narrow single bed to sleep with Shawn snuggling over to his side (even though the bed was a king size bed!).

We woke up at about 7.30am, Meanwhile the not so little one was rolling on the bed and playing while we just laze on the bed. Then we decided to go for breakfast. The buffet spread wasn't fantastic, we both agree that Conrad's better.. Shawn self fed and made a mess. He ate a little bit of everything; pancakes, cupcake, bread, some noodles and fried rice. After breakfast we went to the playground in the hotel. It's just a small play area and Shawn only liked the slide. He would try to climb up the slide and slide himself face down. But he never get past 3steps up the slide. YT ended up helping him to slide down the slide from the top. We had lunch at Paulaner Barhaus and Shawn wasn't too happy hearty beef goulash for lunch. He ended up having mash potato and beef from the soup. Then when we got back to the hotel, we both napped while YT went walkabout and met his friend for coffee. I was too lazy and tired to move around so I decided to stay in the room with Shawn. He was busy playing around in the room, tossing the balloon from the previous day around, occassionally watching Cartoon network, and looked down 22floors down below to the swimming pool and exclaiming aloud seeing 'fish' (humans swimming in the pool). I ordered a spaghetti bolognese kid's size for him. The kid size meal was HUGE. I ended up eating most of it while Shawn requested for bread to dip in the tomato sauce. He didn't seem to like the spaghetti that much. So I would sneak in meat bits and the bread for him.

We went home at about 6pm and decided to just order delivery for dinner. Shawn had a bowl of oats with carrots, peas and egg. And he seemed very contented. I suppose he enjoys home-cooked bland and weird combinations than eating outside food. After these 2 days, I think he is also a more "Cina" than "Angmoh" food type of person for now. He had never tried anything deep fried (except egg and tau kwa) or starchy based food at home and everytime his meals are steamed or soupy sort of food. He tried deep fried potato pancake during breakfast but didn't seem to like it. Perhaps Dr Khor's observation of him being more on conservative side and him not being a risk taker are true hahahaaa... So anyway, we would see, in the near future whether I would have the energy to vary his meals. Haha...
