Potty at night

Shawn finally requested for potty at 9.45pm last night. It was just right after I lights off, he suddenly said,"I need to poo poo. I want use potty." So since he had requested for it, I took it out from the store room. I had bought the potty months back but he never wanted to sit on it. I quickly washed it and let him sit on it. He sat on it demurely with both hands clasped together. Then, he happily started to chit chat. Roughly this is how it went...
Shawn : Mommie, I cried in the bus.
Mommie : (Surprised) Oh? How come? Why did you cry?
Shawn : Because Yue Liang step me
Mommie : (Shocked) Really?! Where did Yue Liang step on you?
Shawn : Because Teacher Angeline scold Yue Liang
Mommie : Why did Teacher Angeline scold Yue Liang?
Shawn : Because Yue Liang naughty. Yue Liang stand on the chair
Mommie : So, Yue Liang stand on the bus seat and stepped on your fingers? Where pain pain?
Shawn : Yes, here (pointing at his fingers)
Mommie : Oh.. sayang fingers
Shawn : Yue Liang bite me
Mommie : Where did Yue Liang bite Shawn?
Shawn : Here (pointing at his mozzie bite)
Mommie : No la, this is a mosquito bite. Not Yue Liang bite
Shawn : Yes, mosquito bite itchy. Mommie I poo already

He stood up and look below and exclaimed "WET!" and there was some dribble of pee on the floor. I quickly took the potty and put in front, while asking my mom from the other room to bring a rag. After a few seconds he peed into the potty! I thought that was an achievement! So I said, "Okay, finish. Time to sleep". The lights off again. Less than a minute he went, "Mommie, I need to squat". I was like this better be real! Off we went into the kitchen, Shawn off the diapers and onto the potty. He just sat there giggly and chatty again. Another 15minutes and no big motion. So diapers up and off we went to bed. He finally knock out and really sleep.

Today I called up the school to ask Tr Angeline if Yue Liang was sitting in the minibus during the field trip. Tr Angeline said, "No, they were far apart and the kids wore seatbelt throughout the journey". So I related what Shawn told me. She said that many kids (not only Shawn) tend to use Yue Liang's name even when it was not Yue Liang who disturbs them (though Yue Liang is at another corner of the class). Poor Yue Liang... being the scapegoat just because he disturbed his friends before, then his name is often used by other kids. I find it amusing but anyway it's good to hear Shawn is behaving as his peers of his age.
