So much in a day

Teacher Nurul told me Shawn did not want to drink his milk from the bottle yesterday. So I thought, "There you go again. You are having the 6months itch again huh?". Anyway, yesterday they spoon fed him. Back at Kidstarz, he refused his milk bottle at about 6month old. Then I switched to the Nuby Non-spill gripper Cup. Now he's refusing the Nuby cup, I suppose he wants to drink from a sippy cup (faster flow) or straw. So this morning I packed sippy cup, his Nuby cup and straws for the school for trial and error.

It was raining cats and dogs yesterday evening when we left school. Shawn was happy because he got to hold the umbrella again. In the cab, he made the umbrella stand and he goes "Waaaa" and clapped happily. He did it repeatedly. I just don't understand why he likes it so much. When we got home, he seemed tired (He had one hour nap at noon and that's all). So I decided to put him to bed. Slinged him on the Ergo and in 15minutes, he slept. I put him in the cot and resumed my daily chores. Managed to take down all the laundry before cooking starts, cooked rice, fried sunnyside ups and a plate of vegetable, washed him bottles, cleaned Aiko's toilet, used magikleen on the floor  then mopped the floor; then finally ate my dinner. I feel like a superwoman; it's done in an hour and 15minutes :) Yay Yay!

It's already 7.45pm.  So I woke him up and served dinner. He finished his dinner at 8.30pm. He had steamed egg with mushroom and a teaspoon of garlic and carrots/corn from the corn soup (prepared in the morning and 'cooked' in Tiger magic cooker). When I gave him soup, he saw a piece of carrot. He kept pointing at it and signed/said more more. He refused the soup, until I gave him the carrot. When he was just having carrot *neat*, he clapped his hands happily.

During dinner, I tried to teach him the word "please". He tried to vocalise but nothing came out. I kept repeating then "Phssshhh" sound came out. He seemed pleased with the sound that he was making. Later after my bath, he was reading to himself. Pointed at stars and said "tar". Then pointed at the moon and said "moo".  I asked him to say please a few more times, then came out  "phssshhh".

Aiko was noisy this morning and Shawn also woke up at 5.30am. Uggghhh... He had milk and refused to sleep. What more.. he dug his mouth and spit some milk out just as we were getting ready for work. Luckily he didn't soil the bedsheet or cot. He spit onto the floor. I suppose this is a method to attract attention. I notice that he does that very often when left alone for awhile. So I picked him up, and left him to roam in the room while I cleaned up the little mess. He took out the books from the shelf and picked "Guess How Much I Love You". Yup, rabbit and moon (actually it's hare featured in the book, not rabbit).  As he was walking, he stepped on another book and slipped, his legs opened and he almost did a split but he managed to support with his hands that he didn't do a perfect split on his legs. Hahaaa... I squated down and said "It's ok. Now stand up". He stood up and continued pointing at the hare on the book. He refused to let go of the book that we brought the book into the cab. I taught him the word "Tree" and he said it quite accurately. Yay!
